Ben Leavitt, CPA, CFE is a Partner at Advisent, leading the firm’s Government and Education practice. He has over 10 years of experience providing audit and consulting services to governmental agencies and nonprofits.
Ben specializes in community colleges, K-12 school districts, federal single audits, Proposition 39 bond audits, fraud audits, and forensic investigations. His work spans routine financial audits to complex engagements including attendance recapture, organizational internal control analysis, and fixed asset accounting.
Ben stays current on state and federal compliance regulations through regular participation in updates organized by the Chancellor’s Office and the California Department of Education. He has presented at workshops for the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers and the California Municipal Treasurer’s Association.
Before Advisent, Ben served as Audit Manager at Christy White Accountancy Corp. and Staff Auditor at Deloitte. He holds a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Accountancy from CSUSM, graduating Cum Laude. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
