John Althouse is Tax Director at Advisent, specializing in R&D tax credits, accounting methods, and federal tax strategies. He joined Advisent in 2026, bringing over a decade of specialized tax experience from some of the nation’s leading professional services firms.
Before Advisent, John served as Tax Director at Strategic Tax Planning, where he led the research credit and accounting methods lines of service for small and midsized businesses. He also held senior roles at CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA) and PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he delivered R&D tax credit studies, cost segregation, fixed asset analyses, and tax accounting method changes for clients ranging from privately-held firms to large publicly-traded companies across aerospace, defense, software, financial services, and construction.
John holds a JD from George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School and a Master of Accountancy from The George Washington University School of Business.
